Currently, Cyber Security experts are faced with an ever-growing amount and complexity of attacks. When combined with large network infrastructures, manual analysis quickly becomes infeasible. The dutch research institute TNO would like to develop methods for real-time evaluation of emerging security threats. To this end, they have collaborated with the KTH institute in Sweden, who have developed a tool which estimates the probability a potential attacker has to compromise a given network architecture.

In this talk, we will examine the current solution which uses a quantified probabilistic model. We will also demonstrate how the same analysis could be performed using probabilistic logic, which shows promising preliminary speedup results.
