Management

The project will be managed by the Project Management Committee (PMC) consisting of the Project Manager (PM) and the Task Managers (TM). The PMC will have regular plenary meetings at 6 month intervals. Extra meetings can be called by the PM. At regular meetings the PMC will meet with the SVC steering committee, which acts as the project advisory board. It will assist the PMC with the evaluation of the project results, and the planning and refinement of the project programme.

Each project task will be managed by the Task Management Committee (TMC) consisting of the Task Manager (TM) and one representative of each partner active in that Task. Each Task will have regular plenary meetings at 3 month intervals. Extra meetings can be called by the TM.

Each TM will produce 3 monthly progress reports on the past activities, results and future planning of the Task. Based on these reports the PM will produce 6 monthly reports of the project as a whole.

The initial assignment of responsibilities is as follows:

Resource allocation

Initially, CTIT, CWI and Telematics Institute will each participate for approximately 2 fte/year, fixing the stable capacity of the project to a level of about 6 fte/year. It is expected that the project capacity will be increased when larger validation studies are carried out as additional contract research. These are anticipated after 1 to 2 years after the start of the SVC project. It is most realistic to follow a scenario of organic growth for the project, with the initial capacity being somewhat lower than the target 6 fte/year.

The table below gives an overview of the allocation of resources per task. The allocation for the last two year is provisional, and will in reality be dictated by the evaluation of the results of the first two years. Note that in this provisional schema the investment in task C is increased (with external sources indicated by (E)) after one year; this is an estimate of the work generated by external validation contracts.
